Kalamata Wakes Up
Shopping at the market in Kalamata means getting up early, especially if you hope to find a parking space. By seven in the morning, the town is still surprisingly quiet.
After filling the car with our shopping, and far too many plastic bags, we head to the harbour for breakfast. The promenade is only slowly waking up. Fishermen sort their nets, cats wait hopefully for a spare fish, souvenir shops begin to open and restaurant chairs are still stacked on the tables.
Coffee, croissants and a little people watching by the harbour. Even a group of sports cars passes by. We prefer to stay exactly where we are.
Soon our shopping reminds us that it really should be in the fridge. Time to go home. But we will be back next Wednesday.
